PhD in Bioinformatics

Bioinformatics is very much an interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary field, currently in a phase of significant expansion across both academic and professional contexts (hospitals, pharmacy, biotechnology, agri-food, and so on).

With the aim of providing comprehensive training in this area, suited to top students and designed to help graduates become leading researchers and professionals, the UVic-UCC Doctoral Programme in Bioinformatics draws upon the expertise of specialists from six Catalan universities. The programme is also aligned with the Barcelona Bioinformatics Association (BIB), which brings together universities, research centres and companies to position Barcelona and Catalonia among the world leaders in bioinformatics.
