Objectives

The Television Production Workshop course allows you to experience first-hand how a magazine, a report and an interview are produced, incorporating into these genres the techniques and new formats that are emerging with content platforms and the rise of on-demand programme consumption. In all cases, the production and realisation of audiovisual products is worked on from the beginning: conception of the idea, design, production and realisation live on the set.

The aim is to consolidate the knowledge acquired in previous subjects and to build a complex audiovisual product that integrates different genres in a single programme, the magazine. It also delves into multi-camera production, blog recording, knowledge of the technical equipment of a studio and a production booth, and the roles and work dynamics in a television studio.

The study also analyses the factors that explain why the number of minutes spent in front of the television is falling every year when, paradoxically, more audiovisual content is consumed than ever through mobile devices, mainly smartphones and tablets.

If necessary, students may choose to recover two of the internships within the period established in the academic calendar.

Methodology

In order to achieve the knowledge of the syllabus, the following are combined:

  • Practical workshops: sessions on set to learn how to master the equipment and record the interview and the magazine live, always devoting a final moment to assessing how the team works. In this case, the students are divided into subgroups.
  • Theoretical classes with the entire group: viewing of programmes on air or those that have marked a before and after on the schedules.
  • Tutoring: individual and group.
  • Self-employment
  • Spot readings
