Objectives

This subject is designed to acquire basic knowledge about narrative and interactive audiovisual language. And also to facilitate the student's learning of the videographic process from the work of building collaborative knowledge. Based on the necessary synthesis between theory and practice, the ideation, production and realization of different pieces and projects with audiovisual language is developed that bring into play the methods, processes and skills of the different professional profiles.

Main objectives

  • To offer a theoretical and methodological basis for the understanding of language and audiovisual narrative: the ideation and creation of various audiovisual formats.
  • Know the similarities between audiovisual languages: cinematographic, television and video games.
  • Carry out a small audiovisual production, from the script to post-production.
  • Design an extensive written project.
  • Identify personal skills and difficulties in teamwork, and become aware of the construction of projects of contribution and collaborative knowledge.
  • Know the importance of organizational culture in diverse environments.

  • Knows and uses correctly the tools for the production of audiovisual materials.
  • He knows and masters the audiovisual language and this fact allows him to create quality content.
  • Knows and uses correctly the software and computer applications that are commonly used for audiovisual production.

Narrative (NAR)

  1. Introduction to storytelling: history, story and narrative
  2. Genres and universal arguments
  3. Contents of history: events and existing
  4. The structure Plots

Evaluation

The evaluation of the subject is continuous.

Both theoretical and technical knowledge and work methods must be acquired during the course. Evaluable exercises are carried out (individual and group). The knowledge and skills of the student linked to the objectives of the subject are assessed.

3 individually assessable activities are carried out:

  • Follow-up and evaluation of completed practices (15%)
    • Theoretical and practical classes
    • Workshops on camera operation and discontinuous shooting (7.5%)
    • Multi-camera and continuous shooting workshops (7.5%)
  • Written preparation of an audiovisual project (15%)

Attendance is mandatory to pass the subject, as all practicals are done during school hours.

The test-type examination can be retaken in the period established by the prefecture of studies.

The rest of the assessable activities are not recoverable.

Methodology

The subject is based on procedures that encourage active student participation processes in the form of individual practices or face-to-face debates. The classes are based on theoretical explanations of the program and the viewing of examples that facilitate the understanding of the theoretical sections. That's why this part of the subject is face-to-face, but with an active participation of students in classes and in small group work.
