Image Theory

Objectives

   • Sensation and perception. Perception and cognition
   • Perception as information processing. Vision. Visual psychophysics
2. Introduction to the study of the image
   • Theories of the image
   • What is an image? Concepts and foundations of image theories
   • Artificial perspective in two-dimensional imaging
   • The frame and the framework
3. Forms and techniques of image representation
   • Evolution of the representation technique
   • Paradigms of the image: pre-photography, photography, post-photography
   • Image file: painting, comic, photography
   • Synthetic images

Evaluation

To achieve the skills set out in the subject, the teacher uses the following elements:

• Completion of required work or projects: 2 group practices (50%)
• Specific assessment tests: Individual essay (30%). Reading and understanding of texts and preparation of reports or summaries
• Participation tracking (20%)

The final grade is the result of the sum.

Note: There are no second chances or extraordinary evaluations.

Methodology

Classes include:

• Work sessions with the whole class group and the teacher
• Individual tutoring sessions with the teacher
• Individual and/or group autonomous work sessions
