To be able to enter Spain, students from the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland must:

Before entryValid passport or identity document from the country of originHave a valid national identity document or passport from the country of origin during the entire period in Spain.
On arrivalRegister in the Central Registry of Foreign Nationals (NIE)Manage registration in the Central Registry of Foreign Nationals when stays are longer than 3 months.

1. Request a prior appointment

Make an appointment

  • Select: Barcelona (if the residence is in the province of Barcelona)
  • Select: POLICE-EU CITIZEN REGISTRATION CERTIFICATES> Enter > Fill in the fields > Accept > Request an appointment
2. Prepare the documentation
  • Registration form (EX18) (2 original copies)
  • Valid passport (original and copy)
  • Original and copy of UVic-UCC registration or admission letter
  • Health insurance/European health card
  • Register as an inhabitant
  • Copy of confirmation of prior appointment
  • Proof of payment of the fee
3. Pay the fee
  • Model 709 code 012
  • Select an option: EU resident registration certificate or residence card for a family member of an EU citizen (€12.00).
4. Attend the appointment
