The UVic-UCC Sport and Physical Activity Studies Centre (CEEAF) is an interdisciplinary cross-curricular umbrella unit bringing together and coordinating research, knowledge transfer, continuing education and bespoke courses in the field of sport and physical activity.
Its main mission is to create and communicate knowledge that enhances the practice of sport in our region, rendering it more efficient and healthier.
The CEEAF works closely with the Research and Technology Transfer Unit (OTRI), which supervises all our competitive research and knowledge transfer projects and our congresses, in line with UVic-UCC policy.
Goals
- Analyse and monitor the phenomenon of sport and physical activity.
- Gain national and international recognition as a creator of knowledge for sportsmen and women and teams, improving quality and efficiency, and promoting healthy attitudes.
- Be an agent for change in high performance sport.
- Promote communication of practical knowledge of sport and physical activity, locally and regionally.
- Work for creation of and participation in sport and physical activity projects locally, nationally and internationally.
- Work with sport organisations to promote research and knowledge transfer activities that move beyong previous approaches.
- Become the main agent for the promotion of sport as one of the mainstream activities at UVic-UCC, in cooperation with other centres and administrative units of the university.
