UVic-UCC joins the 3Cat platform
The University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC) has signed a partnership with the 3Cat platform, the digital platform for content in Catalan created by the Catalan Audiovisual Media Corporation (CCMA) to promote local talent and Catalan culture. Since 11 July last year, 3Cat has established partnerships with various institutions in Catalonia that are leaders in the world of culture and produce audiovisual content in Catalan. UVic-UCC has now joined the 3Cat platform, and is offering various types of audiovisual content related to the university community, research, the economy, health and well-being, education and technology, while strengthening the ties between the University and the general public.
The general manager of the Balmes University Foundation, Jordi Baiget, explained that this partnership will "make it possible to convey university-related content beyond the academic realm, in a universal and accessible space for the public as a whole, thereby promoting Catalonia's knowledge and talent in a coherent and broad-based way."
The content available
The first fiction and current affairs content created by UVic-UCC will be available on the 3Cat platform starting this Monday. First of all, the web series Lisa joins EVA, 3Cat's channel for young people. The production, featuring the actress and TikToker Emma Cunill, focuses on the experience at university of Lisa, a young woman on the autism spectrum, who is studying on the bachelor's degree course in Mechatronics Engineering at UVic-UCC's Vic Campus. Over two seasons and eight episodes, the series raises the profile of people on the autism spectrum at university, in order to contribute to knowledge and acceptance of them, and to their integration. It adopts a humorous and relaxed tone to discuss topics including how a neurodivergent person manages their emotions and relationships, and deals with the university experience.
And in the Collections section of the 3Cat platform, UVic-UCC has an exclusive space in which it provides content related to the humanities, health sciences, economics, social challenges, education and technology, among other areas. This content includes Knowledge Capsules, a series of interviews with researchers at UVic-UCC, in which they talk about their research projects in an instructive way that all viewers can understand.
There are also the capsules entitled Preparats.cat,- content containing useful information for students who are about to start university life, which are designed to make the entire admission process easier and more dynamic, and provide them with support and resolve any queries they may have. Finally, the Collection also includes the UVic Radio Sessions, small-format, short-duration concerts that take place in different spaces at the University, ranging from laboratories, workshops and teaching spaces to the Paranymph auditorium, which aims to take music to places where it is not normally heard and to offer the audience a unique experience.
The UVic-UCC catalogue on the 3Cat platform will be gradually expanded, with various updated content from the University which will be available to everyone. All this audiovisual content, and other content, can also be viewed on the University's Youtube channel.
