UVic-UCC is visited from a delegation of representatives of foreign universities during the EAIE's annual conference
As part of the 32nd annual conference of the EAIE (European Association for International Education) that is taking place in Barcelona until 16 September, UVic-UCC was today visited by a delegation of 58 representatives from various foreign universities, many of which are partners of the university.
The delegation arrived at 11.30 am after being welcomed by the vice-rector for International Relations, Josep Bau. After a general introduction to UVic-UCC, Noèlia Godoy and Gina Morcillo, members of the team of the International Relations Unit at UVic, gave a presentation on the International Relations Unit and the various reception services provided by the University.
After a networking lunch and a group photo with all those attending, the delegation was given a guided tour of the University's various buildings (Miramarges, Torre dels Frares, Can Baumann and the sports area) and saw various iconic sights in the city. According to the vice-rector Josep Bau, "this visit is a great opportunity to be able to contact UVic-UCC's various European partners, as well as to reach universities that are interested in getting to know us."
The EAIE
The institution was founded in 1989 with the aim of providing a platform for learning, networking and sharing knowledge in the field of the internationalisation of higher education. This platform offers both academics and non-academics with the best practices and most viable solutions for addressing the challenges involved in internationalisation, while providing a platform for strategic exchange.
The EAIE organises an annual conference that is a benchmark in Europe every year. This year's event is being held in Barcelona, and is expected to welcome more than 9,000 higher education professionals - mainly from Europe but also from elsewhere in the world. A large proportion of the two hundred scheduled activities will take place in the trade fair area in L'Hospitalet, but various highly successful outings to the different Catalan universities have been planned this year, as part of the "Campus experience", and one of these was the trip to UVic-UCC.
