The BETA Technology Centre presents the tools for the H2020 INTCATCH project at the Catalan Water Partnership Innovation Forum
Lorenzo Proia and Laia Llenas, researchers at the BETA Technology Centre, presented the tools developed as part of the H2020 INTCATCH project at the third Water Sector Innovation Forum, which the Catalan Water Partnership (CWP) held last Thursday in Barcelona. The forum promotes knowledge transfer and networking based around the most important technological and R+D innovations for the sustainable use of water in Catalonia. This year's event, which was attended by 170 people, focused on innovations linked to digitalisation and industry 4.0, the circular economy and solutions for industrial sectors.
At the Forum, the researchers from the UVic-UCC presented the results of their sampling campaigns with aquatic drones that evaluate changes in the water quality in the upper part of the Ter basin. The campaigns, which were carried out by the CT BETA and the Mediterranean Rivers Studies Centre (CERM), aim to highlight the functionality and performance of these drones. They also took advantage of the occasion to identify opportunities for collaborating with the institutions attending the conference, both within the framework of INTCATCH and as part of other projects.
The CWP is a non-profit strategic partnership consisting of companies and knowledge centres that work in the sustainable water use sector. The cluster's mission is to improve the overall competitiveness of its 89 members, which currently include knowledge centres, equipment manufacturers, engineering companies and other institutions related to the water cycle and solutions for its sustainable use. The CWP organises multilevel projects and collaborations, aimed at achieving innovative solutions to global high quality water needs anywhere in the world which can be applied in many sectors. The CT BETA has been a member of this cluster since January 2018.
