COVID-19 information

The COVID-19 officer has returned to the campus for the beginning of the second semester. This person is responsible for providing the university community with information about COVID-19, ensuring positive social interactions, and enforcing the current safety regulations. The officer works in the Miramarges and Torre dels Frares buildings between 10 am and 1.30 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and wears a distinctive red T-shirt.

They make sure that everyone is wearing their mask correctly, remind people of the need to keep a safe distance in both queues and common areas, check that the permitted capacity is not exceeded in shared workspaces, and disperse people if crowding occurs at any time. These are some of the tasks performed by the officer, in addition to reporting any inappropriate action or behaviour that takes place.

The COVID-19 officer also ensures that the University remains a smoke-free campus and reminds people that smoking is therefore not allowed inside the UVic-UCC facilities.

Use of face masks

On 10 February, the Catalan Government announced that wearing masks on the street is no longer compulsory. However, their use in courtyards and outdoor areas is still recommended whenever the safety distance cannot be maintained. Remember that they must still be worn in common areas, coworking areas and shared workspaces, where signs stating that they must be used have been increased.

Free psychological support

In the wake of COVID-19, the University began offering a free psychological support service through the company ASPY Prevención. This service can be requested through the "Gestió covid-19" application on the Virtual Campus.

Any member in the university community testing positive must report this using the same application. They will have to self-isolate and follow instructions from the health authority. Among their close contacts, people who have not been vaccinated or with an incomplete vaccination schedule will have to isolate at home, while close contacts with the complete vaccination schedule may continue to work as normal, following the recommendations of the health authority.
